Overview

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of our commercial landscape projects across London and the South of England. Working closely with our Contracts Managers and wider project team, you will coordinate site operations, manage labour and subcontractors, monitor programme and quality, and maintain high standards of health and safety throughout delivery.

This is a hands-on management role suited to someone with strong construction and landscaping experience who takes pride in delivering complex, high-quality external works. You will be confident working alongside main contractors, clients and other trades, resolving site challenges and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to NAO’s standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of hard and soft landscaping works on site.
• Coordinate operatives, subcontractors, deliveries, plant and materials to maintain programme.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and agreed quality standards.
• Monitor progress and communicate effectively with NAO’s project team, clients and other site stakeholders.
• Maintain high standards of health & safety and ensure site procedures and RAMS are followed.
• Carry out site inspections, identify issues early and support practical solutions to keep works progressing.
• Coordinate with other trades and contractors working across the wider construction programme.
• Maintain accurate site records, including progress, deliveries and relevant H&S documentation.

Key Requirements

• Experience: Proven experience managing landscaping, external works or construction packages on commercial projects. Experience delivering both hard and soft landscaping would be particularly advantageous.
• Qualifications & Cards: Valid Black CSCS Manager Card required, together with a recognised site management qualification such as SMSTS. First Aid training would be advantageous.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction drawings, setting out, hard landscaping, soft landscaping and the sequencing of external works.
• Management Skills: Confident leading site teams, coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, managing programme and maintaining excellent standards of quality, safety and presentation.
• Working Style: Organised, proactive and solutions-focused, with strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with clients, main contractors and the wider project team.
• Licence: Full UK Driving Licence required, with the ability to travel to projects across London and the South of England.
