NAO Landscapes delivered a comprehensive hard and soft landscaping package for Phase 2 of King’s Road Park, a St William development on the site of the former Fulham Gasworks in West London.
The project forms part of a five-phase regeneration masterplan, transforming a historic industrial site into a new residential neighbourhood with accessible public spaces. Our works were carefully coordinated with both completed areas and future phases, ensuring that the materials, finishes and detailing would create a consistent landscape as the wider development progresses.
NAO’s hard landscaping package included granite paving and kerbs, permeable concrete flag paving, bollards and lighting columns. We also supplied and installed a range of street furniture, including steel and timber benches, bespoke handrails, automated gates and litter bins. These elements help define the public spaces and create durable, welcoming routes through the development.
Soft landscaping introduced trees, shrubs and smaller planting species to bring greenery and seasonal interest into the public realm. The scheme also incorporated play equipment and bespoke insect hotels, creating opportunities for both community use and urban wildlife.
The site’s industrial heritage was an important consideration throughout the works. The landscape integrates listed buildings and memorials with contemporary paving, planting and public realm features, helping connect the area’s history with its new use.
Alongside the visible landscape finishes, NAO installed surface and deep drainage, automatic irrigation, electrical and data ducts, and draw pits. Coordinating this infrastructure with the hard and soft landscaping was essential to delivering a complete external works package.
Works commenced in September 2024 and were completed in February 2025, within the planned five-month programme. King’s Road Park demonstrates NAO’s ability to deliver detailed public realm landscaping within a complex regeneration project, balancing heritage, biodiversity and the practical demands of phased construction.
