NAO Landscapes delivered the hard and soft landscaping for the central courtyard at Eden Grove, a Berkeley Group residential development in Staines-upon-Thames. Set between the development’s pavilion-style buildings, the courtyard brings together planting, carefully detailed hard landscaping and distinctive focal features to create a welcoming communal garden for residents.

The works included paved pathways connecting the building entrances, seating areas and extensive soft landscaping. NAO planted 34 new trees, alongside a varied planting scheme designed to introduce greenery, seasonal interest and opportunities for wildlife into the heart of the development.

A signature water feature forms a focal point within the courtyard, adding movement and sound to the garden. NAO also coordinated the delivery and installation of a stainless-steel sculpture by artist Ian Marlow, carefully integrating the artwork with the surrounding landscape. Together, these features give the courtyard a distinctive identity while creating an inviting space for residents to enjoy.

The project combined the practical demands of landscape construction with a strong focus on the finished environment. Our team coordinated paving, planting, the water feature and sculpture installation alongside the wider construction programme, paying close attention to levels, interfaces and finishing details.

Eden Grove demonstrates how hard and soft landscaping can work together to create a cohesive residential setting. The completed courtyard provides a green, shared space that complements the architecture and brings nature, art and everyday amenity into the centre of the development.
