NAO Landscapes delivered hard and soft landscaping at Aberfeldy Village in East London, working on a regeneration project for EcoWorld London that transformed an existing estate into a new urban neighbourhood.

Creating spaces for the community was central to the landscape. NAO’s works included paving, communal courtyards, timber seating and water features, bringing together places to move through, meet and spend time outdoors. East India Green was one of the communal areas created as part of the project.

Soft landscaping introduced flowers and other planting along the walkways and shared spaces, adding colour and seasonal interest while providing opportunities for birds and insects. The planting helps soften the built environment and gives the new public spaces a greener, more welcoming character.

Sustainability was also an important part of the works. NAO incorporated sustainable drainage and biodiversity features into the landscape, supporting the development’s environmental ambitions alongside the practical needs of its residents.

Aberfeldy Village demonstrates how carefully delivered hard and soft landscaping can contribute to regeneration beyond the buildings themselves – creating connected, attractive spaces that encourage people to spend time outdoors and help a new neighbourhood establish its own sense of community.
